Position Summary | The University of Central Arkansas Assistant Professor is responsible for teaching, research and service. This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency/institution policy. The position is tenure track and a nine-month appointment. |
Job Duties and Responsibilities | We seek an artist-teacher with proven experience to teach musicological courses which will include Introduction to Music Literature; Music History I and II, Women in Music; The History of Rock and Roll; graduate courses such as Introduction to Research and Bibliography and several graduate seminar courses to be taught on rotation. The ideal candidate should have a proven commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging. |
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities | Candidates should demonstrate a comprehensive knowledge of, and experience teaching all areas of musicology and with proficiency for on-line teaching and methodologies for teaching Music History courses on-line. Other duties will be assigned in accordance with the successful applicants expertise, including applied music with preference for low strings, music theory and ear training. |

Required Education and/or Experience | Qualifications include the Ph.D. in Musicology (ABD will be considered for appointment), Ed.D., or equivalent, and significant experience teaching at the college level. |
