Overview:

The Overhire, Recital Operations Stage Manager executes the operation of recital performance venues during rehearsals and events. This person is often the only individual on duty and handles all venue and recital responsibilities. The position seldom involves calling cues or overseeing technical crews.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain a professional demeanor and serve as official representative from the Recital Operations team.


• Open and close the performance venue, dressing rooms, and equipment storage areas.


• Prepare the Recital Hall for performance in terms of stage set-up, lighting, and recording needs.


• Communicate with performers and colleagues in a courteous, supportive manner.


• Act as house manager for the performance, including handling programs as well as opening and closing the house.


• Coordinate with the Video Stage Manager, run lights, recording equipment, and perform set changes during performance as required.


• Move and store pianos and harpsichords in a safe manner.


• Restore chairs, stands, and other equipment to storage area as instructed.


• Ensure that all Safety guidelines are followed while in the venue.


• Complete and submit Stage Manager Report.

Qualifications and Skills:

Required:

• Basic understanding of Music and Theatrical Production needs, with experience in the field of the Performing Arts.


• Work afternoons, evenings, and weekends as needed.


• Must possess leadership qualities, be able to supervise others, and assume a position of authority.


• Good organizational skills, with the ability to adapt to last minute changes.


• Must be able to handle crisis situations.

Preferred:

• Professional Stage Management experience.


• Experience in working with classical music ensembles.


• Basic technical theater experience, including operation of lighting and audio equipment.


• House Management experience.

Salary Range:

• Starting at $24.00/hour
